Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 6, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how The Caleb Patterson Law Firm, PLLC ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on thepattersonlawfirm.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site keep pages secure, remember your visit, and measure how the site is used.
Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by the services we use to run and improve the site. We also use similar technologies, such as scripts and tags, that collect the same kinds of information. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
Cookies We Use
We use three kinds of cookies: cookies the site needs to work, analytics cookies that show us how the site is used, and session analytics that show us how visitors move through our pages. We do not currently place advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.
-
Strictly necessary (Wix, our website platform): keeps the site secure, maintains your session, runs our booking and contact forms, and monitors site performance and errors. Examples: XSRF-TOKEN, svSession, TS*. These last from the end of your session up to 6 months.
-
Analytics (Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager): counts visits and shows which pages are viewed, how far visitors scroll, and which consultation buttons and phone links are clicked. Examples: _ga, ga*. These last up to 2 years.
-
Session analytics (Microsoft Clarity): records how visitors interact with our pages, such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, to produce heatmaps and session replays. Examples: _clck, _clsk, plus cookies Microsoft sets on its own domains, such as MUID and CLID. These last from 1 day to 1 year.
Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to work, so they cannot be switched off through the site. Wix publishes the cookies it sets on the websites it hosts in Cookies and Your Wix Site. Our booking tool, also provided by Wix, may set additional cookies while you schedule a consultation.
Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful and where visitors leave, so we can improve our content. Google processes this data under its own terms. See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Microsoft Clarity helps us find pages that are confusing or hard to use. Clarity is designed to mask sensitive information, such as text typed into form fields, before a session is recorded. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Please do not include confidential details about a legal matter in any website form. Submitting a form or booking a consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Your Choices
You can control cookies in several ways:
-
Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Your browser's help pages explain how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as booking and contact forms, from working.
-
Google Analytics. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent your visits from being sent to Google Analytics.
-
Microsoft Clarity. Blocking third-party cookies or using your browser's tracking protection limits what Clarity collects. Microsoft explains your options in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
-
Private browsing. A private or incognito window deletes cookies when you close it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the tools we use change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
